Emmanuel Gavira is a proudly Mexican Director of Photography whose work moves between narrative, documentary, television, and commercial filmmaking.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Film, Emmanuel Gavira specialized in analog cinematography, developing a hands-on understanding of the craft through experience with both 16mm and 35mm film. His understanding of cinematography was built from the ground up, spending years working through the camera department and experiencing productions from different perspectives. His path took him from VTR Operator to Camera Assistant, taking charge of camera equipment at EFD (a leading camera rental company in Mexico), and later working as a 2nd AC, 1st AC, Focus Puller, and Camera Operator—an uncommon trajectory that has given Emmanuel Gavira a deep understanding of both the technical and creative demands of a set. His credits include feature films and television productions for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, and other leading streaming platforms, alongside commercial, documentary, and music video work.

Beyond his work as a Director of Photography, Emmanuel Gavira has extensive experience directing advertising campaigns and music videos. This experience has strengthened his ability to develop visual concepts, collaborate with artists and creative teams, while bringing ideas to life through compelling images.

He is currently in post-production on his first seven-episode series as Director of Photography for digital platforms, simultaneously continuing to photograph fiction, documentary, and commercial projects for television and digital distribution.

Emmanuel Gavira is based in Mexico City and available to work throughout Latin America, the United States, and internationally.
